Singita Pamushana Introduces Game Viewing Cruise Excursions
14 September 2009
Singita Pamushana in south eastern Zimbabwe has introduced birding and game viewing sunset cruise excursions aboard its new luxury range 3G aluminium pontoon boat. Decked out in blonde leather seats with marine grade carpet, it offers a relaxing and comfortable game viewing option, cruising Malilangwe dam against the spectacular backdrop of an African sunset.
As one of only a few safari lodges in Africa with access to a private dam, the cruising experience is a unique guest activity offered here in the primordial bush. Powered by a quiet four stroke engine, it allows for excellent bird watching and low impact game viewing from the water. Common sightings range from hippos, crocodiles, thirsty elephant herds and water buck, to fish eagles, kingfishers and many other species of water birds such as cormorants, darters and crakes.
Fishing excursions are also offered, where the catch of the day may include catfish and bream, as well as the renowned tiger fish and bass, which may be fished on a catch and release basis.
Often referred to as ‘one of Southern Africa’s best kept secrets’, Singita Pamushana was recently included in Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘Hot List 2009’. Located on 130 000 acres within the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, one of the most pristine, unspoilt wilderness reserves in the world, it is reached via a convenient, 2-hour direct flight from Johannesburg. With only six luxurious suites and a magnificent 5-bedroomed villa, the Relais & Châteaux lodge is perched high against sandstone cliffs with breathtaking views across the Malilangwe dam.
