Singita Boulders in the Sabi Sand Reserve (Mpumalanga, South Africa) has scooped the award for Best Luxury Resort Hotel in Africa/Indian Ocean 2008 in the inaugural Luxury Travel Advisor Awards of Excellence. Singita Boulders forms part of Singita Game Reserve’s exclusive collection of nine iconic low-impact, high-end lodges in Southern and Eastern Africa.

Winners were announced in Las Vegas early in December. The prestigious awards honour the people and destinations that uphold the standards of the international luxury travel industry and, while nominees are determined by the Luxury Travel Advisor Nomination board, an elite group of luxury travel advisors, winners are selected by the readers of Luxury Travel Advisor magazine, primarily luxury travel professionals.

Singita was the only South African-based travel group to be named among the winners of these awards, having been selected from an impressive list of finalists in Africa and the Indian Ocean. Other award categories included Best Luxury Tour Operator/Wholesaler; Best City Center Luxury Hotel in Europe; Best City Center Luxury Hotel in Asia; Best Hotel/Resort in the Middle East; Best Luxury Hotel Group; and Best Luxury Family Resort Worldwide.
