In another collaboration between Singita and guests, the facilities of the local schools have, over the past few years, been greatly enhanced, including fencing, ablution facilities, furniture, computers, white and/or chalkboards, stationery, sports equipment and educational resources. These have all been added to the schools’ assets, as per the expressed needs of the principals.

Some guests have chosen to sponsor the costs of a child for a year. This includes school fees, uniform costs and a food allowance. Additional classrooms have been built to deal with the challenges of classroom congestion.

Funds were also used to build kitchens at two local primary schools. These support the government-funded feeding schemes which are in place for the children at the schools and which, in the past, depended on totally inadequate and unhygienic cooking facilities.

Mini Soccer League
Tomorrow’s soccer legends are learning their heroes’ skills and techniques from an early age, thanks to Singita!

Based on the passion for football, shared by both our staff and the local communities, Singita sponsors, in collaboration with local schools, a soccer league for 18 primary schools – for boys and girls – in the villages outside the Sabi Sand. This league aims to provide the outlet and opportunity for talented youth to enjoy organised fun. Matches of great dedication and determination take place and are enjoyed not only by the youngsters, but by the proud parents and sponsors too.
