DECEMBER THROUGH MARCH
Summer months are hot and humid with rain or very typically afternoon thunder showers. Lots of animals are born during these months – notably the impala lambs, zebra foals and wildebeest calves. This time of the year is when the Chiredzi River is most likely to flood, creating amazing canoeing waters.
APRIL THROUGH AUGUST
The vegetation starts changing from thick lush green bush to slightly more sparse browning bush during this time. The temperatures start cooling down especially at night and it is generally dry, though the odd shower may occur. Warm clothing is recommended at this time of year, especially for game drives both in the morning and the evening. The animals find little water in the bush and so migrate to the various watering holes scattered around the property – and of course, the Malilangwe Lake offers a great place for herds of elephant and buffalo to frolic and bathe in. This time of year is best described as cool and dry and is the perfect condition for black rhino tracking and any walking safaris.
