We’ve just bid a fond farewell to honeymoon couple Jaime and Katie, from New York, who must possess some kind of big cat mojo as during their one week stay with us they saw nine leopards, five cheetahs and 16 lions!

It is achingly dry at the moment, although we’ve been teased with splashes of rain, and well-fed carnivores are reaping the rewards as thirsty, thin herbivores are perilously drawn to scarce water supplies. It’s an excellent time for game viewing and a few hours spent at a waterhole are bound to be rewarding.

We eagerly await the birth of the first impala lambs, which should be in the next two weeks, and look forward to the relief of rising water levels in the Mahande, Chiloveka, Chiredzi and Runde Rivers.
