There are five Singita lodges in two special parts of South Africa, known for their large concentration of game, including the ‘Big 5’ (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo).

The Sabi Sand Reserve, crossed by the Sand River, has groves of Acacia Thornveld and Marula trees giving way to open expanses of grassland where zebra, antelope and wildebeest graze freely. The region is particularly famous for leopard sightings. Singita Kruger National Park is located on the Park’s eastern border with Mozambique where large prides of lion thrive, including the famous Mountain Pride of lions.

In northern Tanzania, Singita Grumeti Reserves (spanning some 350 000 acres of untouched wilderness) forms part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem, on the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park – Africa’s No. 1 World Heritage Site. The word ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai word ‘Siringit’, which means ‘the place where the land stretches to forever’. These handsome plains are teeming with the most incredible wildlife, all year round.

In Zimbabwe the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is set on 130 000 acres of wilderness in the southern corner of Zimbabwe, bordering the Gonarezhou National Park. Home to one of the highest concentrations of the endangered black rhino in Africa as well as fourteen species of eagle, the area is famous for its Mopane forests and majestic Baobab trees. Malilangwe is also an area where you will find over 100 rock art sites that date back more than 2000 years.
